Hype belongs to party-loving Pokémon like Volbeat, Illumise, Azurill, and Marill. When music plays — usually courtesy of DJ Rotom — Hype Pokémon break into dance, and the happier they get the higher the "mood" stat of the surrounding area climbs.

Raising mood is required for several story events, including the Rocky Ridges curry-making questline, and it's a key ingredient in unlocking certain Mythical Pokémon such as Volcanion.

Pair DJ + Hype + food/decor in a single zone and you'll push its mood meter to the top quickly.
